Substances can be classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic. Substances with these properties are known as CMR substances.
According to Article 4.10c of the Working Conditions Decree, all organizations are obliged to keep personal records for at least 40 years after termination of exposure. The reason for this is that working with these substances can be hazardous to an employee's health in the long run, which cannot be measured directly.
CMR registration in SOFOS 360® is organized on procedures and process administration. A procedure is a production process within your organization that involves (CMR) substances. In the process description, you identify the compounds employed and, if applicable, the expected exposure to these substances. The latter is optional but allows you to do an exposure risk analysis alongside the CMR registration. Based on the projected exposure and the substance's defined threshold values, SOFOS 360® can calculate an exposure ratio and provide an indicator of risk. Before you can go to this stage, you must first describe your organization's processes.
The process describes a production process in your organization. In general, SOFOS 360® describes only the processes that use CMR substances. A procedure consists of one or more process steps and a general description of the process (possibly in multiple languages). Additionally, a process has a risk indicator that is calculated using the data from the process steps.
In addition to the description on the process screen, you can link to documents that provide extra information about the process.
When a process is used in a process administration, it is displayed in the "Process administration" tab.
