You can use this screen to create a new unit or change an existing one. You will see the following fields on the screen:
- Search unit: This is a field that you can fill out yourself and use to find a (special) unit more easily. For example, use 'ul' to look for the unit 'µl'.
- Unit: This is the unit
- Base unit: This field contains the base unit to which the unit is connected. The basic unit, when combined with the factor, allows amounts of different units but the same basic unit to be added together.
- Factor: This is the factor used to convert the unit to its base unit. For example, the factor for 1 cm is 0.01 (1 cm = 0.01 * 1 m) and the factor for 1µg 0.000001 (1 µg = 0.000001 * 1 g).
- Frequently used: If a unit is often used and you want to see it first in the search results, click this field. The unit will then be immediately visible in the search list. If the unit is not checked, it will only be visible in the search results after unchecking the filter.
- Description: Here, you can enter a free description in four different languages.
