Permit-role
Menu > Settings > Biological agents > Permit-role

In this screen you can create and edit permit roles. The name of the role can be entered in four languages. You can then link the entered role to a permit.

It is also possible to adjust the description of the four fixed roles (Biological Safety Officer, Environmental Safety Officer, Responsible Employee, Production Employee). Here, however, the meaning of the role will not change. In other words, if you change the description of the role 'Biosafety Officer' to 'Project Manager', the role will still be interpreted behind the scenes as the role 'Biosafety Officer'. You are therefore advised not to change the description of the four fixed roles. The meaning of the fixed roles is described below.

Biological safety officer

A biological safety officer has been appointed to supervise the safe handling of ggo's within the organisation

Environmental safety officer

Organisations wishing to work with genetically modified organisms (GMO's) that are introduced into the environment must appoint one or more authorised environmental safety officers (ESO). The ESO is responsible for all aspects of working safely with GMOs.

Responsible employee

The responsible employee is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the workplace and is substantively competent of the request. He must be assigned to your organisation as well as registered with the GMO agency.

Production employee

Employees who perform work with GMOs under the supervision of the VM after they have been found by the BVF to be competent to perform the work in question.
