In this screen you can enter a new insert. If an insertion appears on appendix 2, list A3 of the 'Regulation genetically modified organisms environmental management 2013', then check the 'List A3' field.
An Insertion appears on list A3 if it contains one or more of the sequences below:
- Uncharacterized sequences
A sequence is in any case considered 'uncharacterised' if one or more of the following
data is missing:
- the origin and nature of the sequences;
- the way in which the insert is constructed
- a substantiation of which function or functions the sequence can have.
Focal points in the substantiation referred to under 3 are the function and relative positions of structural genes, regulatory sequences, synthetic sequences, sequences derived from transposons and proviruses, and sequences that are important for replication in the genetic gemodified organism
- Sequences coding for
- toxins and cytolysins with an LD50 for vertebrates of 100 micrograms or less per kilogram body weight;
- other virulence and pathogenicity factors;
- viral and cellular oncogenes in combination with a viral vector containing viral sequences involved in integration or replication;
- enzymatic functions involved in transposition or integration of transposons or provirus sequences;
- functions that lead to independent transfer of genetic material;
- functions that allow the insert to function as a viral vector;
- an antibiotic resistance that does not naturally occur in the species to which the host belongs, or in related species, if this jeopardizes the use of drugs to control pathogens>
