The information portal allows quick searches for limited substance information. Along with substance details, if the stock module was obtained from SOFOS360, it may also display the locations of the jars containing the required compounds. The SOFOS360 administrator's authorization settings determine how and whether this information is presented.

 

You can search using the search screen at the top right. You can input any text, and SOFOS360 will search the database for substances that match the entered search text:

• The names of a substance
• The CAS-number
• The UN-number
• The GHS-index number
• The article code of an article containing the required substance
• The pot number

If your search term contains spaces, it will be separated by those spaces. Each resulting term will then be used with an 'AND' to identify a substance. By enclosing the search term in quotation marks ("), you indicate that one of the elements listed above must exactly match the search query.

Examples:

• Search term Benzene will display all substances where this search term exists in the previously given elements. For example, the substance 'Benzene' will be found, as well as the substances 'Benzenesulfonic acid' and 'Nitrobenzene' if they exist in your SOFOS360.
• Search term 90-3 will identify all compounds in which the search term appears in the components described earlier. A substance is typically recognized using a section of the CAS number, GHS index number, or article number associated with that substance.
• Search term Wine spirit can find the substance 'Alcohol' based on one of the synonyms of the substance if it was created for this substance.
• The search term Hydrochloric acid 70% will identify all substances for which the above elements contain the keyword 'Hydrochloric acid' and the above elements contain the term '70%'.
• Search " Benzene" will identify all chemicals whose above components include the word Benzene.

After you have found one or more compounds, click on the line of the substance you wish to learn more about, and the information screen will display.

You can narrow the list by selecting the department filter next to the search field. This filter displays substances that are directly related to the department you have selected. Departments can link to substances using the 'Linked to' tab on the substance screen. Furthermore, the list will include compounds from pots in a room connected with the chosen department. Departments can be defined on the room screen. This setting specifies whether substances contained in a pot in the room or included as maximum stock should be visible in the information portal.
