You can create a new dashboard using the New button at the top. However, creating a dashboard is a complex matter. This is caused by a number of aspects:
- Perhaps the most difficult part is to first determine what you want to see, and how you might want to filter it out.
- Then you need to determine what you will use as "starting point" for your dashboard. Consider, for example, a fabric that has multiple colors, where you would like to see all the colors of a selected fabric.
It is important to know that if you take the Substance as the starting point for your dashboard, you will not be able to show the colors in the dashboard. Indeed, one property of the dashboards is that you cannot display repeating data. To reach the desired dashboard, you must use the colors as the starting point. You then start on the repeating side, where each color is linked to a substance.
- In addition, there are different types of views that you can choose on a dashboard. Ranging from a grid with columns and a pivot table, to pie charts and Chloropeth cards. Each of these types has its own settings, capabilities and is suitable for a specific purpose.
- And finally, there are properties that play a role all over your dashboard. For example, the ability to filter one chart if you select something in another.
All in all, this can be a rather overwhelming experience. If this is just a bit too difficult for you, or requires way too much time to fathom, in order to be able to make dashboards yourself, you can of course always contact ITIS so we can support you.
