Via menu item "Go to - Third party database" the screen "Update substance data" can be started. This screen can be used to update the substance data of one or more substances of a particular origin (SOFOS, BIG, ChemWatch, etc.) with the latest data.

• First you choose the database of which you want to have the substance data updated.
• SOFOS360 then connects directly to the external database to retrieve the version of all the substances contained in SOFOS360 that have ever been supplied by this external database.
• Subsequently, the version of the substance in the external database will be compared with the version of the substance in SOFOS360 and, if the version of the database is newer, the substance will be added to the list of substances to be updated.
• The screen will show the number of substances to be updated. The list of substances to be updated will then be visible in the field "Single BIG substance", "Single ChemWatch substance" etc.
• If necessary, you can select a single substance to update in this field. If you leave the field empty, all substances in the list will be updated.
• By clicking on the field "Update" the substance data of all substances to be updated will be updated. This may take some time.
• Once one or more substances have been updated with the new data from the database, you can use the 'Differences list' button to see the differences between the old and new versions of the substance.
